These artful birthday cards feature a selection of prints from Vasily Kandinsky’s (French, b. Russia, 1866–1944) Kleine Welten (Small Worlds) portfolio from 1922. Kandinsky was an early and vigorous advocate for abstraction in art, considering the style a kind of spiritual language. He created this portfolio while teaching at the Bauhaus, the influential German art and design school founded in 1919.
